I earned an MFA (studio art) from the University of Chicago in 1985. Since then I have been living in Mount Vernon, Iowa where I am a full professor in the Department of Art and Art History at Cornell College. I am married and have two daughters. My eldest is a first year student at Grinnell and my younger one is in 8th grade. My wife Sarah teaches elementary school art here in our quaint little town.
